Tell Me Something Good

I found this awesome linky today all about focusing on the good! So I'm linking up with Rowdy in First Grade to share one good thing from home and from school. Head over and link up!

From Home
This weekend, I finally got to plant some things! Spring is finally here to stay, which means its time for flowers, tomatoes, and herbs! Just more signs that summer is around the corner!

From School
I have one student who has given me trouble all year. Any weird, bizarre thing you can imagine, she did. She was very defiant and turned away any positive reinforcement I offered her. I was almost to the point where I was just going to give up and survive the last 20 days. This week, I have tried to spend about 5 minutes, just me and her, where she could just talk to me about whatever she wanted, hoping the extra attention would do her some good. And it has! She has been a completely different student this week! Let's hope this is how the rest of the year will be!

It's the little things in life...

  1. I have about 3 or 4 kids that i need to try that with! I live in the OKC metro area, I've been afraid to do any planting with crazy spring we are having so far. Where do you live in Oklahoma? I'm your newest follower!

    1. Another Okie blogger! Yay! There are so few of us, I get so excited when I find another! I live in Tulsa. We had another freeze this week, after I had just planted, so I hope that is the last!

  3. Hello! I am actually replying to a comment you put on my blog (I couldn't find your email address and it said you were a no-reply commenter)

Aww, now I feel bad. :( We've been fortunate. There have been cuts but we still get some money for classroom order stuff annually. Our PTO Tries to help out, too. It was a stretch for me to use such a big chunk of it on those boxes but I really liked the read to self and read to someone options of D5.

Maybe a DonorsChoose.org project. I had one filled a few months ago that got me mp3 players for my kiddos to use during Listen to Reading D5.

    1. I don't even know that a no-reply commenter is! Or how to be come a reply commenter!? Suggestions anyone?! Our PTO does give us a little bit at the beginning of the year, but it runs out pretty quick. I did a DonorsChoose project earlier this year, and I am hoping to do another one next year! Thanks!
